Financial Education

We enjoy hosting educational presentations and workshops across Oregon

Whether for employees at the state on retirement planning or donors to area nonprofits on effective philanthropy, sharing a new take on financial education is one of the ways Brenna gives back to the community. Reach out if you’re interested in having her speak to your organization on any of the following topics:

This 60-minute presentation is popular among state/public organizations and focuses on:

  1. The variables to plan for in retirement, including changes to income, expenses, healthcare, and the financial unknowns;
  2. The phases of and factors involved in retirement planning, including health, longevity, inflation, Social Security, and investments;
  3. Analysis of where you are today, your “point a,” including net worth, cash flow, and retirement resources;
  4. Exploration of what you want retirement to look like, your “point b” and charting a path to get there; and,
  5. Prioritizing a life of contentment, avoiding a life of complacency.

This 60-minute presentation is popular among those nearing/in retirement and will cover:

  1. Discussion of traditional financial literacy programs and why they’re ineffective.
  2. Four case studies and the lessons we can learn from each:
    • Case study #1: Career changer in his mid-50s transitioning from W2 to consulting work.
    • Case study #2: A couple on the cusp of retirement and considerations they’re facing.
    • Case study #3: A recently widowed woman in her early 70s and the changes she needs to make.
    • Case study #4: A couple in their mid-80s considering the legacy they’re leaving.
  3. Each case study covers investment considerations, tax-efficient strategies, and other key areas critical to a healthy financial plan.

This 60-minute workshop is often given to area nonprofits and foundations and focuses on:

  1. Resources to take a high-level overview of your current charitable approach;
  2. Guidance on how to create a custom philanthropic philosophy;
  3. Effective approaches to instill a gifting mindset across generations;
  4. Discussion of the various tax-efficient ways to meet philanthropic wishes; and,
  5. Strategies for vetting 501(c)3s.

This 30-minute presentation is excellent for civic organizations/clubs and focuses on:

  1. The foundations of trust in a client/advisor relationship;
  2. Money as both a practical and emotional issue;
  3. The differences between financial stress and financial anxiety;

  5. Tips on finding an advisor that’s a great fit for your unique situation.

This 90-minute presentation is a collaboration between Collective Wealth Planning, Collier Law, and Willamette Vital Health. Together, we cover the ins and outs of estate and financial planning issues that uniquely impact women, including:

  1. Managing financial transitions;
  2. Preserving your most treasured asset: your family;
  3. Considering the type of legacy you are leaving; and,

Hi, I’m Brenna.

Every day, I seek ways to deepen my understanding of our world and my role in it.

Some of my favorite parts of that role are as a mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. I met my husband in 2008 on an airplane ride home from LAX, and we welcomed our daughter into the family on St. Patrick’s Day, 2017.

My core values are growth and connection, and I can’t think of a better profession to foster those than financial planning. I’ve been in Oregon most of my life, in Salem since 2007, and in this field since 2013. I am passionate about helping clients grow and connect with what is most meaningful to them. You can find the ‘why’ behind my decision to start CWP in this video, which I shared when the practice first launched.

I look forward to learning a bit about your story, what drives you and how we can collaborate to make your world – our world – a little bit better.
