Project-Based Financial Planning for Oregon Public Employees Retirement System Members & Retirees

Why We’re Unique

“I have the ingredients, but not the recipe.”

We often hear some version of this from our client families. They have accounts in various places, a rough idea of how much they spend, and a few goals they want to achieve penciled out, but it’s not cohesive.

Financial planning is the way to make sense of your ingredients. We co-create a unique financial plan for your life, vision, and values. Throughout this process, you are in the driver’s seat. It’s our role to serve as a thought partner, distill your options clearly and empower you to make the best choice. As a CFP professional, Brenna is a fiduciary. Your best interests are the foundation of our recommendations.

As personalized as a recommendation might be, it doesn’t do much for you until it’s carried out. Statistics show that ~80% of financial planning recommendations go unimplemented. Our planning process will support you in developing, adapting, and executing your financial planning recommendations to build the life you want to live.

Understanding Our Fee Structure

Transparency and honesty are key pillars of the firm, starting with being upfront about costs. We are a fee-only practice, meaning fees come directly from a mutually agreed-upon arrangement, not commissions.

Financial Planning
Working together to establish your financial plan is at the heart of what we do. Whether you join us under our project-based model or wealth management model, we will collaborate on your plan to ensure you get to your unique definition of ‘enough.’

Option 1: Project-Based Financial Planning

With this engagement, we walk through the financial planning process outlined above, focused on 3-4 areas of your financial life. All project-based financial plans will include retirement planning. You can choose the other 2-3 focus areas important to you: estate planning, risk management, education planning, cash flow and debt management, investment analysis, or any other important topic in this season of life.

Ultimately, you walk away with clarity, a long-term plan, and a list of action items to move you from point a to point b. The cost is around $6,000 for individuals and $7,500 for couples, with 50% of the fee due upon signing your initial contract and the remaining 50% at the conclusion, paid via ACH.*

*The fee may be higher if you are a business owner, have a highly structured legal estate, own private or illiquid investments, or otherwise have a lot of complexity in your financial life. We will quote you the final fee after the getting acquainted meeting.

Option 2: Ongoing Wealth Management

If you want to partner on long-term financial planning and are looking to outsource the management of your investments, our ongoing wealth management services might be a fit. Under this structure, fees are based on a percentage of assets up to a cap and are deducted from your investment accounts quarterly. You can find more details under the Ongoing Wealth Management tab.
